A large Kurdish flat-woven kilim from mid-20th century Turkey, executed in wool on wool. The central field, in a deep brown ground, is patterned with repeating stylized rose blossoms in shades of red and pink, framed by a contrasting light red border with rosettes. The scale and bold floral design reflect the traditional weaving vocabulary of Kurdish artisans. Age-appropriate wear consistent with use.
